If you remember back in 2013, Dusky’s massive hit “Careless” bucked trends and took deep house straight to the top. At the time, the track was not only the first non-mainstage smash to crack the Beatport Top 100 in many years, but it also marked a shift in our charts that paved the way for notable acts like Ten Walls to reach #1 as well.
Now it’s almost 2015, and UK house duo Alfie Granger-Howell and Nick Harriman, aka Dusky, are back at the top of the Beatport charts with their stellar new single “Yoohoo,” which not only differs from the pace we typically see at the top, but fills it with melodies that recall dance music’s rich history.
It only took Dusky approximately 10 days to nab the #1 position, and, as luck would have it, this latest 17 Steps single also includes deeper b-side cut “Akebono,” which is also currently #5 on the Top Ten Releases chart, affirming that Dusky fans are feeling both sides.
